Introduction:
Labour is set to celebrate of those people who work all day in the different countries.Hences , it is celebrated May 1 in the world.
Labour day:
The condition of the labour was very poor in the earlier days.Their work 20 hours a day.They
face many problems .They has not given rights instead the work whole day.Due to work all day affects their heath and there are not given wages according to work.So they decided to fight their own rights.The labours decided make their own union to solve their problems.
The labours who work all day become make rule to work 8 hours in 1886 after their struggle.So the lst May makes as labours days for all over the world.Now a days,labours work 8 hours and they also given every facility.Their including heath,transport and other things also.At the remaining time , they also rest.It has actually movement of labours who fight their own rights.
Labour day in Pakistan:
In Pakistan ,1st May become as the labour day.Karachi has 2.5 million population including 25 lakhs labours.Pakistan's first labour policy revised in 1972 .This policy also make Social Security Network,Old Age Benefit Schemes and Workers welfare fund.Pakistan becomes memeber of ( ILO)
International Labour Organization in 1947.ILO is agency promotes social justice and rights.Pakistan has 36 ILO conventions.
Labour union in Pakistan work for welfare and benefits of Labors.They organizes rallies and seminar to emphasized of people . Labor Union leader speeches to tell history of labor day.In Pakistan workers has not given rights as the worker given in development countries.Many organized streets demonstration take places on labor day.Labor day is public holiday in Pakistan.All government and non-government,institution and factories remain closed.The labors has given facilties and work 8 hours daily.They can't face problems and properly work enjoy life.The Labours protest and demand for better wages and facilities.
